The monkey sanctuary is run by a group of overseas charities with the Vietnam Government - they rescue monkeys taken by poachers (for sale overseas or to be used in various 'virility potions') and try to get them to form groups and families in captivity. Then the families are released into a protected area of native jungle and if they settle well they eventually get moved back into the wild. The whole process takes a couple of years minimum.
