Seville's bullring

sevillesbullring.jpg

The Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, is one of the oldest bullrings in Spain. It is said to be where the modern style of bullfighting first started (fighting on foot insted of horseback). The statue is of a famous matador, Curro Romero. Apparently this guy was renowned for being a bit hit-and-miss, and spectators supposedly used to throw rolls of toilet paper at him if he was having an off day. What a way to make a living, eh?
